STEP BY STEP
1. Breathe, centre and set your intention
2. Bring to a simmer one cup (per person) of water in a small saucepan. You can also use milk, however the traditional way is with water
3. Break one square of cacao (per person) and add it to simmering water. If you like your cacao very strong, you can use two squares
4. Once the cacao has melted, blend with a whisk
5. You are done! Enjoy your grounding, delicious and energetic organic cacao - to you from Mother Nature
Please store your cacao in a cool, dry place, and seal your bag of cacao with a clip or band.
SOME OTHER BREWING TIPS
- You can add one clove & one small piece of cinnamon to the water to add some spice
- Add a small sprinkle of raw sugar or panela if you like your cacao a little sweeter
- Never turn your back on the cacao! She is a powerful force and simmers quickly, you don’t want a cacao volcano
- You can also put your piece of cacao in a blender with one cup of boiling water and blend it (just double check your blender is made for hot liquids), or blend the melted mixture from the pot for an extra frothy cacao. We highly encourage you to blend your cacao with a whisk or a blender, as this will make your cup of cacao creamy and even more delicious
ENJOYING YOUR CACAO
We find that drinking cacao really enhances our morning ritual. It can be consumed whilst doing yoga, journaling, meditating, or even before exercising (thanks to the energy it provides). You can also drink it as an after dinner treat, thanks to its healing properties and minerals that support a good night's sleep.
100% cacao is also a great connector - with yourself, with others, and with Pachamama (Mother Earth). In Colombia, cacao is the centre of family and friends coming together, relaxing and connecting.
You might feel like sharing your drinking cacao, or being in silence with yourself, you might feel a release of emotions, you might feel deep joy, or you might want to move your body. You might simply enjoy this cacao in replace of your morning coffee (good news - cacao provides energy, without the crash of coffee). Whatever it is, Pachamama is there holding space for you.
