HELLO / HOLA

We are Katherine & Suaty.

It was at the start of the pandemic that we became housemates. Many cups of tea and chats later, a great friendship developed. This friendship included Suaty introducing Katherine to her home country specialty - drinking cacao, from her Dad’s farm.

A mutual love of cacao was born, and an idea was born to bring drinking cacao to Australians. It wasn’t a quick process, we both work full time jobs, and with life and all in between, however the dream started developing into an idea. A trip to Colombia together in 2022 really cemented our idea. We met inspiring and passionate farmers, and enjoyed many cups of cacao and its healing properties, feeling very close to Pachamama.

This is when we also came up with the name Pachamama Goods, a name inspired by our mutual love for Mother Earth, a nod to the South American ancestors who started the tradition of drinking cacao, and of course the fact that cacao comes from Pachamama.

Pachamama is Mother Earth. Pacha - Earth and Mama - Mother, the one that gives life and protection, to who we are deeply connected and dependant upon.

Our drinking cacao comes straight from Pachamama, to who we are very grateful for. We hope that by purchasing this cacao you are able to connect more deeply with yourself, your community, and Pachamama.

OUR MISSION

  • To connect people: from farmers in the hills of Colombia and the tradition of cacao, to kind and compassionate people using cacao as part of their daily ceremonies and rituals
  • To provide a product that supports connection with self, community and Pachamama (Mother Earth)
  • To provide a product that is truly good for you and your wellbeing
  • To support farmers in Colombia who are coming out of decades of civil war and unrest
  • To prioritise farming and production methods that are sustainable and, protect our precious environment & biodiversity
  • To honour tradition, heritage, spirituality, health and, trust in the process

OUR THANKS

We are very grateful to our nearest and dearest who support us on this adventure, gracias / thank you!

When setting out on this venture, we agreed that it was very important that we collaborate with people who share similar values and ethics. We are very grateful to have worked with Chiara Leto on the beautiful design of the Pachamama Goods brand, and thank her for pouring her heart and soul into this project. We are also very grateful to Marcela Amaya for her expertise, guidance and support from Colombia. A huge thanks also goes to our wonderful, passionate and inspiring farmers and producers.

Last but definitely not least, thank you so much to our customers for trying (and hopefully loving!) our cacao.

With gratitude, Katherine and Suaty
