ABOUT PACHAMAMA GOODS CEREMONIAL GRADE CACAO

Our cacao comes to you from Mother Nature. Pachamama is Mother Earth (Pacha - Earth and Mama - Mother), the one that gives life and protection, to whom we are deeply connected and dependant upon.

Pachamama Goods 100% cacao is fairly traded, certified organic and premium quality, coming from the mountains of Huila, Colombia. Colombian cacao is considered to be one of the finest cacaos in the world. Fun fact: 90% of the cacao from Colombia is classified as 'fine flavour' (i.e. premium, full of flavour cacao), whereas only 8% of the world's cacao is considered to be 'fine' in flavour. Our drinking cacao is grown and hand harvested in small crops from local families that have specialised in growing cacao for generations. It is then carefully selected, fermented & roasted, creating premium quality full of flavour solid cacao.

Pachamama Goods drinking cacao is EU and USDA certified organic, which means our product is grown in an environment that fosters resource cycling, promotes ecological balance, maintains and improves soil and water quality, does not overwork the land and does not use synthetic materials, while conserving biodiversity.

Our cacao is also certified Kosher, which responds to purity requirements stipulated in the Halakha. This allows tracing origin and production of a finished product, from individual ingredients to its final form. This is not only important for Jewish and Muslim people, but also for people concerned about purity and looking for a product free of nuts, dairy or any other impurities and allergens. This reassures that our product is 100% cacao with no traces of other ingredients, and verifies the production facilities where our cacao is transformed from bean to bar.

This drinking cacao has been ethically traded and aims to support prosperity, social equality and sustainable economic opportunities to the families from Huila, Colombia. People from this region have been historically affected by the violence and conflict between the rebels and the national army for many years, prior to the Peace Agreement in 2016. By enjoying our drinking cacao, you are providing opportunities to local farmers, which in turn helps support stability in the region. Pachamama Goods trades directly with the farmers, meaning your investment goes straight into community without unnecessary links in the chain, and supports farmers to enhance their beautiful product, of which they are very passionate about.

Our certified organic 100% cacao is a blend of Criollo and Trinitario cacao variety. Forest, floral, red berries, citric (lemon leaves), wood and salty nuances are the predominant flavours of Pachamama Goods' drinking cacao.

Colombian cacao has been considered one of the finest in the world by the International Cacao Organisation.
